Carrie Dingwall
Bachelor of Fine Arts, Diploma of Teaching
Carrie majored in Printmaking at Otago School of Fine Arts and then continued her education at Canterbury Teachers College.
In recent years, Carrie has taught Printmaking and Mixed Media Art at Hagley Community College (After 3 programs) and then went on to set up her own private studio. Here at Starling Studio, Carrie creates a comfortable, supportive environment for her students.
Now with almost 4 years of running Printmaking classes, Carrie has everything you need to learn this fun and very addictive art form!
PRINTMAKING CLASSES AVAILABLE:
Carrie’s Printmaking classes are designed for beginners as well as experienced artists.
All new students start with the same introductory project which they work with for the first 1/2 of the term, then Carrie guides each student into their own unique project. Students are encouraged to try different carving styles and techniques. The class is limited to 8 students, this way there is plenty of opportunities for individual assistance and guidance from your tutor.
Students can expect to cover relief printing on wood blocks and lino. Starting with single colours and working up to various colour layering techniques. There will also be opportunities for students to cover some basic intaglio printmaking techniques, such as dry point etching.
No experience is required and all start-up materials are provided. (additional materials may need to be purchased such as paper etc).

PRINT CLUB
Print Club is a self-directed 4-hour session for students who feel confident to work on their own projects in their own time with a group of like-minded creatives.
Held on the first Saturday of every month.
BYO consumables
Full use of studio equipment including printing presses.
Bookings essential $45.00 per session,

Your spot in the class is confirmed once your term fee is paid in full.
No refunds or transfers - if you are unable to attend the term class, please consider gifting your spot to another creative.
If you are unwell, please do not come to class. Carrie will be happy to ‘catch you up’ on anything you missed when you next attend. There are no additional classes or transfers provided if you can not attend a class.
If your tutor is unwell, additional classes will be added to the end of the term or on a weekend day to make up any missed lessons.
